The purpose of the Extended Story Hour program is to introduce children to the wonderful world of libraries. A significant part of a child's intellectual capacity develops before going to school. The purpose of the program is to help children develop good listening, social, and motor skills, gain separation from their caregivers, and interact with their peers. Sharing stories and books helps children develop their vocabulary and understand the world around them.

When: Tuesday and Thursday
Requirements: Two proofs of town residency, birth certificate, and immunization records

Story Time is a one-hour program designed for the enjoyment of the children and their caregivers. Story Time helps children associated reading with pleasure and set the foundation for language and learning. Reading with your child sets a solid foundation for later learning.

When: Wednesday or Thursday
Age: All children must be 2 years 6 months or older
Requirements: Two proofs of town residency, birth certificate, and immunization records.

Event Title: Creative Writing Workshop with Author Siobhan Vivian

Local teens in grades 6-12, are invited to participate in a creative writing workshop on Saturday, October 11 at 10:30am. Siobhan is the author of A Little Friendly Advice, a book that has been very well received upon its publishing this year. Vivian's book has been reviewed in Publisher's Weekly, Kirkus, Booklist, School Library Journal, and countless newspapers and online book review sites. Registration is required for this program.
